2027 Crisis Intervention Team: Hearing Voices

“Hearing Voices” Simulation and Crisis Intervention Team Workshop The Hearing Voices simulation, developed by the National Empowerment Center, provides participants with a controlled experience of the auditory hallucinations commonly associated with schizophrenia. During the simulation, participants wear personal MP3 devices that play a curated track of intrusive voices while they attempt to complete a series of everyday tasks, interpersonal interactions, and cognitive exercises. This immersive experience is useful for individuals who are interested in working with criminal justice agencies whose clients struggle with mental health disorders.
